The first foldable iPhone from Apple is now predicted to be one of the most expensive smartphones available, according to an analyst.
A report from Fubon Research estimates the iPhone will be priced at approximately $2,399 when it is expected to arrive next year. Analysts developed this figure after studying part costs from Apple’s supply chain and the company’s standard pricing strategies.
This potential price point would position Apple’s foldable phone well above its rivals. The current leader in the category, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold7, has a starting price of $1,999. Other competitors in the market are OPPO’s Find N5 and HONOR’s Magic V5.
The high cost is reportedly linked to several key components. The screen that bends, the intricate hinge system, and the use of premium, lightweight materials are all believed to contribute to the final price.
Even with this premium cost, the outlook for iPhone Fold sales is optimistic. Fubon Research projects that Apple will sell a total of 15.4 million of these foldable devices. Their forecast includes selling 5.4 million units within the product’s first year of release in 2026.
