The Xiaomi T Series has proven itself to be one of the most compelling high-end smartphone lineups for those who want flagship-level features without the flagship price tag.

Its 2026 iteration, the Xiaomi 17T Pro, doesn’t look dramatically different from its predecessor, at least in terms of design. It may not be the most eye-catching phone around, but at Php47,999, we have high expectations for its performance, cameras, battery life, and overall experience.

Design and Build Quality

The Xiaomi 17T Pro looks and feels almost identical to its predecessor, the Xiaomi 15T Pro. Apart from a slightly refined camera island and minor size adjustments, everything feels familiar.

Xiaomi-17T-Pro-NoypiGeeks-5861

If you already own the 15T Pro, there’s little reason to upgrade based on design alone. But if this is your first Xiaomi T Series device, here’s what you should know.

The flat frame is made of aluminum alloy. It’s slim, lightweight, and comfortable to hold, making the device feel very ergonomic in daily use. Xiaomi uses Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on both the front and back. While it’s not as durable as Gorilla Glass Victus found on flagship devices, this one is more than good enough.

The phone is noticeably lightweight, and the fairly thick camera bump provides a secure resting point for your fingers when holding the device.

Unlike some competitors, durability doesn’t appear to be a major focus here. Still, the phone carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, which is more than enough for accidental exposure to rain and splashes.

Xiaomi-17T-Pro-Case

The included rubber case does a good job of protecting both the screen and camera island. There’s also a pre-installed screen protector out of the box.

The hero color of the 17T Pro is Deep Blue, which is the variant we have here. It looks sleek, elegant, and understated. Deep Violet and Black options are also available.

Xiaomi-17T-Pro-Review-5867

While the lack of a design refresh may disappoint some users, we appreciate how sleek and relatively compact the Xiaomi 17T Pro feels.

Taking a quick tour, the front houses a large 6.83-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera and impressively thin bezels all around.

The top and left sides are clean, interrupted only by antenna bands that appear on all four corners.

On the right are the flat volume rocker and power button. Both feel tactile and clicky.

At the bottom, you’ll find the dual nano-SIM tray, USB-C port, microphone, and loudspeaker. As usual, there’s no microSD card slot for storage expansion.

Around the back is the familiar 2×2 camera layout. The 50-megapixel main camera sits at the top beside the ultra-wide camera, while the periscope telephoto camera and supporting sensors, including the IR blaster, are positioned below.

The pill-shaped dual-tone flash sits on the right, alongside the Leica branding.

Display and Audio

The Xiaomi 17T Pro features a 6.83-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 2772 × 1280 resolution, ~447ppi pixel density, 144Hz adaptive refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, 3500Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate, 12-bit color depth, 3500 nits peak brightness, and 2000 nits in High Brightness Mode.

It also supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, DC dimming, adaptive color temperature, Xiaomi EyeCare Shield, and Sunlight Mode.

Display quality is excellent, with vibrant colors, deep contrast, and impressive brightness levels that make outdoor visibility effortless. The high refresh rate contributes to a smooth experience, although it rarely feels noticeably different from 120Hz in daily use.

Xiaomi-17T-Pro-Display-Review

The stereo speakers utilize the earpiece as the secondary channel rather than a dedicated driver. While they get reasonably loud, the sound profile feels somewhat thin. High frequencies can be overly sharp, while bass lacks depth and impact. Still good enough for most use cases, though.

Hardware and Performance

The Xiaomi 17T Pro is powered by a 4.21GHz MediaTek Dimensity 9500 octa-core processor built on a 3nm process. It features an Arm C1 Ultra prime core clocked at 4.21GHz, 3 C1-Premium cores, and 4 C1-Pro cores. Graphics are handled by an Arm G1-Ultra GPU, paired with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.

Xiaomi 17T Pro Benchmark Scores

Xiaomi has also equipped the device with its 3D IceLoop cooling system and an improved Xiaomi Surge T1+ connectivity chip. Connectivity features include WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and an IR blaster.

The phone breezes through everyday tasks without breaking a sweat. Web browsing, messaging, video calls, photography, and multitasking all feel effortless. However, it got very hot when we ran 3DMark’s Wild Life Extreme Stress Test, resulting in a poor stability score of 31.2%.

Xiaomi-17T-Pro-Gaming-Review

For gaming, Genshin Impact ran smoothly on the High preset at 60fps. PUBG Mobile performed flawlessly at HD graphics with Extreme frame rates, while Call of Duty: Mobile was equally smooth at Max graphics and frame rates.

Farlight84 remained playable at HD graphics with 120fps, although the device became noticeably warm during extended sessions. Thankfully, performance remained stable.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang ran flawlessly at HD resolution and Ultra frame rates, while Asphalt Legends Unite was smooth at High Quality settings with 120fps enabled.

As expected, the Xiaomi 17T Pro delivers flagship-level performance without compromise.

Software and User Interface

The Xiaomi 17T Pro runs Android 16 with HyperOS 3 on top. Xiaomi promises five major Android updates and 6 years of security patches.

HyperOS 3 feels more polished than ever. The interface is clean, intuitive, and easy to navigate. If you prefer an app drawer, you’ll need to enable it manually through the Home Screen settings, as it’s disabled by default.

Xiaomi HyperIsland is also present, serving as Xiaomi’s answer to Apple’s Dynamic Island. It’s a convenient way to access ongoing tasks, music player, notifications, and more.

HyperConnect returns as well, allowing seamless sharing of files, notifications, and even home screens across compatible devices, including tablets, laptops, and audio products.

The device also comes loaded with AI features such as Google Gemini, AI Writer, AI Subtitles, AI Eraser, AI Expand, Ultra HD, and more through the Gallery app.

Both the optical fingerprint scanner and face unlock performed reliably throughout testing. We also appreciate the unique layout of the biometrics menu, which makes adding fingerprints or facial data quick and straightforward.

Cameras

One of the Xiaomi 17T Pro’s biggest highlights is its camera system. Leading the setup is a 50-megapixel main camera that uses a 1/1.3-inch Light Fusion 950 sensor with a f/1.67 aperture, 23mm focal length, and optical image stabilization (OIS).

Xiaomi-17T-Pro-Specs-Features

It is joined by a 50-megapixel Samsung JN5 periscope telephoto camera offering 5x optical zoom at a 115mm equivalent focal length, along with OIS and PDAF. Completing the setup are a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

The main camera supports video recording up to 8K at 30fps, while both the telephoto and selfie cameras can record up to 4K at 30fps. Leica Summilux optics, Leica Authentic, and Leica Vibrant color profiles are also included.

Daylight photos look fantastic. Colors may not be perfectly accurate, but they are vibrant and visually appealing. Dynamic range is handled exceptionally well, while sharpness is impressive without obvious oversharpening even upon close inspection.

The main camera continues to impress at night. Images remain sharp, colors stay close to reality, exposure is well-balanced, and dynamic range remains strong.

The same sensor handles 2x zoom shots with a 47mm equivalent focal length. Despite relying on digital cropping, daytime images remain highly detailed and usable.

Low-light performance isn’t as strong, but the results are still respectable.

Moving to the dedicated 5x telephoto camera, image quality feels genuinely flagship-grade. Photos are packed with detail while maintaining similar color science and dynamic range as the main camera. Even low-light shots remain surprisingly usable.

The camera can zoom up to 120x, equivalent to 2760mm. Unsurprisingly, image quality deteriorates significantly at this range, but it remains useful for occasional long-distance shots.

Around 447mm equivalent is where image quality remains practical, making it particularly useful for concerts, sporting events, and live performances.

Photos from the 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera won’t blow you away, but they’re perfectly serviceable.

Colors are pleasing, dynamic range is respectable, detail levels are acceptable, and low-light performance is decent. Unfortunately, there’s no autofocus here.

The 32-megapixel selfie camera produces selfies with natural skin tones, balanced dynamic range, and respectable low-light performance.

Detail levels are good, though we expected slightly sharper results from a sensor with this resolution.

While not flawless, the Xiaomi 17T Pro’s camera system is more than capable for a sub-flagship smartphone. In fact, we might even say that it’s flagship-caliber in most situations.

Battery and Charging

One of the biggest upgrades over the Xiaomi 15T Pro is the battery. Capacity has increased to 7,000mAh, a substantial jump from the 5,500mAh battery found in its predecessor. Charging has also improved with a faster 100W wired charger, while 50W wireless charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging remain available.

It delivered the best battery results we’ve seen in this category, lasting 23 hours and 32 minutes in our PCMark Synthetic Battery Loop Test and 27 hours and 41 minutes in our 1080p YouTube Battery Loop Test.

That translates to roughly two days of light to moderate use on a single charge.

Xiaomi-17T-Pro-Charging

Another impressive inclusion is the 100W charger, which fully recharged the device in under an hour. Just make sure you enable “Top speed” charging in the battery settings.

  • 15mins: 0-33%
  • 30mins: 62%
  • 45mins: 91%
  • 58mins: FULL

Verdict

The Xiaomi 17T Pro didn’t reinvent the formula, but it doesn’t need to. Instead, Xiaomi focused on refining what already worked: flagship-level performance, versatile cameras, exceptional battery life, and fast charging, all at a more accessible price point.

Xiaomi-17T-Pro-Unboxing

Its design remains largely unchanged from the previous generation, and the audio experience leaves room for improvement. The ultra-wide camera also feels outclassed by the excellent main and telephoto shooters. Still, these shortcomings are easy to overlook when you consider everything else the device offers.

The Dimensity 9500 delivers top-tier performance, the Leica-backed camera system consistently produces impressive results, and the massive 7,000mAh battery sets a new benchmark for endurance in this segment.

Xiaomi-17T-Pro

Add the blazing-fast 100W charging and long software support, and you have a smartphone that’s easy to recommend.

If you’re looking for a premium Android smartphone that delivers most flagship experiences without the flagship price tag, the Xiaomi 17T Pro stands as one of the strongest contenders in its class.

Xiaomi 17T Pro pricing and availability in the Philippines

The Xiaomi 17T Pro 12GB/512GB has an SRP of Php47,999 in the Philippines. It’s available at Xiaomi physical stores and online through Shopee and Lazada. A 12GB/256GB model is also available as a Shopee-exclusive for Php45,999.

Pros

  • Excellent flagship-level performance
  • Excellent main and telephoto cameras
  • Premium, durable build quality
  • Long software support
  • Outstanding battery life

Cons

  • Design feels almost identical to its predecessor
  • Underwhelming ultra-wide camera
  • Stereo speakers sound thin
  • Device can get warm during extended gaming sessions

Sei Crypto Wallet to come pre-installed on Xiaomi phones

Xiaomi and The Sei Development Foundation, a non-profit that promotes the Sei network, have entered a global partnership that aims to promote mainstream blockchain adoption. From 2026, Xiaomi phones available outside mainland China and the United States will come pre-installed with a wallet and crypto discovery app developed by Sei Labs. This would definitely help increase the adoption of the network as Xiaomi is one of the biggest smartphone vendors in the world, just behind Samsung and Apple. Participating phones will be able to conduct peer-to-peer payments, explore Web3 products, and access decentralized applications without the need to download third-party apps. What’s more, Sei plans to implement stablecoin payments in over 20,000 Xiaomi stores, starting in Hong Kong and the European Union. Sei Labs aims to “build a decentralized NASDAQ” and targets to accommodate 200,000 transactions per second as it aims to shift the financial ecosystem on-chain. To make it possible, th...
