Smart Communications has opened pre-orders for the HUAWEI Pura 90s Series in the Philippines, the telco announced today, August 10. Both the Pura 90s Pro Max and the Pura 90s Pro are available through Smart Postpaid and Smart Infinity until August 19, ahead of the devices’ August 20 retail launch. The Pura 90s Series debuted globally in mid-July, headlined by a 200MP telephoto camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and 4x optical zoom on the Pro Max. Both phones run Huawei’s Kirin 9030S chipset, EMUI 16, and a 6,000mAh battery, with the Pro Max pairing a 6.9-inch LTPO OLED display and 100W wired charging against the Pro’s 6.6-inch screen and 66W charging. On the software side, Huawei bundles Celia as its built-in AI assistant, while Google apps stay reachable through the AppGallery or a side-loaded Play Store. Despite the lack of Google Mobile Services, HUAWEI smartphones continue to arrive in the Philippines for better or worse. This time, they launched two new sub-flagship devices, one of wwhich is the HUAWEI Pura 90s Pro. The HUAWEI Pura 90s Pro boasts a pretty over-the-top camera setup, as made obvious by the enormous camera section on the back. It boasts a 50-megapixel RYYB main sensor with a variable f/1.4-f/4.0 aperture and optical image stabilization. You also get a 50-megapixel 4x telephoto lens, 12.5-megapixel ultra-wide, and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide for the selfie shooter. A 6.6-inch 1.5K LTPO OLED display is on the front, with a 1-120Hz refresh rate, and is protected by Kunlun Glass 2. Powering the device is a Kirin 9030S processor, with 12GB of RAM, and an option between 256GB and 512GB of storage.
