Over 3 years from Diablo IV’s 2023 launch, Blizzard has confirmed Diablo V for a first-half of 2029 release window during its BlizzCon 2026 Opening Ceremony in Anaheim. The Diablo V story picks up around a century after Diablo IV’s ending, after the Lord of Terror’s rule has hardened into a permanent state. Blizzard’s 48-second teaser depicts the aftermath: thousands of angels executed on makeshift crosses, and the surviving human population kneeling before Diablo as their new deity.
