Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus: Exynos 2600 CPU, 6.7″ QHD+ LTPO, 4,900mAh battery

Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy S26 Plus, and it barely has any upgrades over its predecessor. All the headlining upgrades are on the Galaxy 26 Ultra . The Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus still has a 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO display with a 1-120Hz refresh rate. It also inherited its predecessor’s 4,900mAh battery. Wired charging is, sadly, still at 45W, but the wireless charging is now slightly faster at 20W. Most markets, including the Philippines, will get the variant with an Exynos 2600 processor. A lucky few countries will get the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 model. Even the cameras are the same. We still have a 50-megapixel main shooter with optical image stabilization, a 10-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide. It also gained a plethora of AI features, including Now Brief, powered by the Personal Data Engine, which automatically gives you reminders and sets calendar appointments from your notifications, messages, emails, etc. Call Screening is also here. ...

Globe Prepaid eSIM is finally available

Globe-Prepaid-eSIM

At long last, Globe has finally released its Prepaid eSIM.

The Globe Prepaid eSIM launched about 8 months after they first teased the service in August 2023, around 5 months since a prepaid eSIM was offered exclusively to travelers, and about 6 years since they offered eSIMs for postpaid users.

If you own modern iPhones and other compatible devices and want to have a Globe eSIM installed on your phone without being tied to a postpaid plan, you can now do so by purchasing one on the GlobeOne app.

The Globe Prepaid eSIM has a price of Php99 and comes with a free 5GB of data and unlimited texts to all networks valid for three days after registration. Sadly, no free calls.

To purchase, simply open the GlobeOne app > tap Life Essentials > and under Get a Globe Connection, tap Prepaid eSIM. Key in your email address, where the QR code and installation instructions will be sent.

Settle the payment via GCash or credit/debit card and you’re done.

It’s worth noting that the app will automatically check if your device is eSIM compatible. Pretty neat.

Sadly, Globe still doesn’t give the option to convert your physical SIM to an eSIM so you can keep the same number. To do that, you have to subscribe to a postpaid service.
