The newest smartphone from HONOR has achieved a remarkable debut. According to the company, sales of the HONOR X9d 5G on its first day of availability, January 24, were 160 percent higher than the first-day sales of the previous model in the series.
The brand staged a multi-week campaign to introduce the device to the public. This effort began on New Year’s Day with online videos showcasing the phone’s toughness. It was followed by a promotional event comparing its durability to that of a Tesla Cybertruck, and culminated in an official PH launch.
Stephen Cheng, Vice President of HONOR Philippines, expressed gratitude for the market’s response, saying that they are deeply thankful to their community and partners for the incredible support.

A major focus of the phone’s design is ruggedness. The company says the X9d 5G can endure falls from as high as 2.5 meters. It incorporates several protective features, including a specialized shock-absorption system, a fluid material that hardens on impact, and reinforced glass. The device is also rated to resist water and dust ingress.
The launch was celebrated with a customer event at SM Megamall on January 24, featuring musical acts like Sponge Cola and HORI7ON. Attendees who had reserved the phone early received giveaways, including limited-edition t-shirts from a local brand.
