For years, sharing files between Samsung and Apple devices has been a bit of a headache. But that’s about to change.
Samsung has announced that its Quick Share feature will now work with Apple’s AirDrop. This means users on both sides can finally send photos and other files to each other without needing a third-party app.
According to Samsung’s announcement, the new AirDrop support will launch first on the Galaxy 26 series. The company said additional devices will be added later, though it did not give a specific timeline for those.
The feature started rolling out last week. It became available first in Korea and is now expanding to Asia, Europe, and America.

If you have a Galaxy S26, you can start using it by checking for software updates. Once your phone is updated, you need to go to Settings, then Connected Devices, and then Quick Share. You will see a new option called “Share with Apple Devices.” Simply tap that button to turn it on.
From there, sharing is straightforward. To send a photo to an Apple user, go to your photo gallery, tap the share button, then tap Quick Share. You will then see the Apple device you want to share with. Tap it, and the file will send.
Apple users can also send files back to Samsung users. They can do this through the regular AirDrop process, and the Samsung device will now show up as an option.
