Design and Build Quality
The OPPO Reno15 shares the same design as the entire series. It looks clean and sleek, but a bit forgettable, as they also look very similar to their predecessors.
It’s available in Aurora White, which has Aurora Borealis-like reflections that look very interesting. The review unit we got is the Twilight Blue, which can look nice and subtle or too boring, depending on your preference.
The rear panel uses a frosted glass panel and does a decent job of eliminating smudges, but not completely.
It also has a matte aluminum frame, which is flat on all four sides to provide a secure grip, but the curved corners ensure it’s still comfortable to hold in the hands.
At 7.77mm, the Reno15 is very thin, albeit slightly heavy at 197g. Still, we had no issues carrying it on a daily basis, especially with its IP69-rated dust and water resistance and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on the front and back.
The design might be forgettable, but the OPPO Reno15 is a well-made device. It feels durable and comfortable to use. The pre-applied screen protector and free clear case ensure better longevity.
Taking a tour, the OPPO Reno15 has a 6.59-inch LTPO AMOLED screen on the front. We also have the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner here, and the 50-megapixel selfie camera peeking from the punch-hole cutout.
The bezels are very thin and almost unnoticeable. Also, the screen is still usable even if it’s wet or if you’re wearing gloves.
Left side only has the two antennas, which are also found on the other three sides of the device.
We have the volume controls and the lock/power switch on the right. The physical buttons are flat and very tactile.
The top has the stereo speaker, IR blaster, and noise-isolating microphone.
At the bottom, there’s the SIM tray for two nano SIMs, USB-C port, primary microphone, and the primary loudspeaker.
On the back, there’s the iPhone-like camera layout with a shiny, glass camera island. The one on top is the telephoto lens, the main camera below it, and the ultra-wide and dual-LED flash on the right.
Display and Audio
The OPPO Reno15 features a 6.59-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display, with a 2760 x 1256 pixel resolution, ~460ppi, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, can reach 1,200-nit peak brightness, and has 3840Hz PWM dimming for eye safety. It also supports HDR10+ content.
It has customizable Eye Care settings, screen resolution, and refresh rate. You can also enable the Adaptive Tone, which intelligently adjusts the screen color temperature depending on your environment, made possible by the built-in sensors.
We’re giving the display a high score. It’s vibrant, gets very bright, and roomy — very satisfying for most use cases.
The stereo speakers were also impressive. It’s very loud, has audible stereo separation, clean treble, and ample bass for a full sound.
There’s also a 300% volume boost that’s automatically triggered when you max out the volume-up button. It’s great for crowded rooms or if you’re outdoors, but the sound quality definitely suffers.
Hardware and Performance
The OPPO Reno15 5G comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor clocked at 2.8GHz, with an Adreno 722 GPU, 12GB of RAM, and an option between 256GB and 512GB of UFS 3.1 non-expandable storage.
OPPO Reno15 Benchmark Scores
It’s fast and reliable in basic tasks like taking pictures, web browsing, online meetings, streaming content, and more.
The chipset didn’t skip a beat, but for the price, it deserves a more powerful one. Let’s see if the gaming performance is smash or pass.
It handled Genshin Impact with no problems. We got smooth frame rates at 60fps setting, albeit the graphics quality is only at Medium.
The Reno15 also nailed almost all shooter games we tested. PUBG Mobile was seamless under Ultra settings, Call of Duty Mobile at Very High graphics with Max frames, and Farlight84 at HD graphics with 60 frames.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang was buttery smooth under HD and Ultra, as well as Asphalt Legends Unite.

Overall, the OPPO Reno15 5G provides a good gaming experience with no major frame drops or overheating issues. However, at this price point, it’ should have getting’s expected to have a more powerful chipset.
Software and User Interface
The OPPO Reno15 5G ships with Android 16-based ColorOS 16. It will receive 5 years of OS upgrades and 6 years of security patches. Note that OPPO didn’t use the more affirming term “5 OS upgrades,” so it’s not automatically 5 Android versions.
ColorOS is still one of the most functional interfaces in the market. It’s fairly clean, too.
OPPO’s new Trinity Engine, an AI-powered All-Scenario Scheduler, works in the background to offer a more seamless performance as it learn your usage habits.
AI Mind Space is like a smarter Notes and Pinterest app. Simply screenshot any content (recipes, travel guides, etc.), wait for AI to analyze the page, and find it saved in the AI Mind Space app.
Unlike regular screenshot-ing, it intelligently collects and curates your ideas so you can look back at them more easily.
There’s also the OPPO AI suite with your usual features like AI Writer, AI Search, AI Translate, and AI VoiceScribe.
The gallery is also rich with these AI features: AI Recompose, AI Eraser, AI Portrait Glow, AI Perfect Shot, Enhance Clarity, Unblur, and Remove Reflections.
Face unlock worked really fast, even in the dark. So fast, you almost don’t need to use the fingerprint scanner, which is sadly optical instead of ultrasonic.
Performance Booster is a hardware visualization feature hidden in the settings. It shows you your real-time CPU and GPU usage, RAM, storage, and more.
ColorOS 16 also offers deep customization for the RAM expansion, allowing you to borrow 4GB, 8GB, and 12GB of space from the storage.
Cameras
The OPPO Reno15 5G has a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 main sensor, with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization. There’s also a 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL JN5 3.5x telephoto with 85mm equivalent, f/2.8, and OIS; an 8-megapixel ultra-wide; and another 50-megapixel JN5 sensor for selfies with PDAF.
It can record videos with a 720p resolution at 30fps, and 1080p and 4K at 30fps and 60fps. Ultra Steady and HDR recording are also available. Slow-mo videos are also possible at 720p@120fps, 720p@240fps, and 1080p@120fps.
There’s an Underwater Mode that disables the screen and lets you control the camera exclusively using the physical buttons. Also, here are Dual-View Video, Time-lapse, Movie Mode, Hi-Res, Text and Document Scanner, and Pro mode.
Daylight shots are good, but not great. Saturation is a little off, and we’re noticing a bit of a yellowish hue in most of the photos. Still, it shows great potential due to the nice details and wide dynamic range.
The sharp sensor is capable of taking decent 2x zoom shots. Colors look oddly better on this one, details remain sharp, and dynamic range is consistent.
Low-light shots held up well. Shots are well-lit, surprisingly sharp, have decent colors, and have good dynamic range.
The 3.5x telephoto camera has an 85mm equivalent. This one looks really good for portraits and even for zooming in on details, which is great for IG Stories. Colors are good, dynamic range is fine, and we’re seeing tons of details, even in low-light.
Images from the 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera are nothing to brag about, but they are definitely usable. We got decent sharpness and colors, dynamic range is surprisingly fine, and we appreciate the autofocus function.
Selfies from the 50-megapixel camera looked great. There are a lot of details, the skin tones are realistic, the dynamic range is still good, and the low-light performance is top-notch.
The OPPO Reno15 is a reliable camera phone, no surprises there, considering the series’ good reputation.
Battery and Charging
The OPPO Reno15 has a 6,500mAh battery. Slightly bigger than the Pro’s 6,200mAh, while having the same 80W wired and reverse wired charging support. Sadly, no wireless charging support.
Battery life was pretty solid. It lasted for 23 hours and 35 minutes in PCMark’s synthetic battery test and 17 hours and 23 minutes in our 1080p YouTube Battery Loop Test. Those are some of the best scores we got for this price segment.
Charging is very fast, too, with a full 0-100% charge taking just under an hour. See the full test results below:

Verdict
The OPPO Reno15 is for people who want more from the Reno15 F, or want something cheaper than the Reno15 Pro, while also having a bigger display and battery.
Who is it not for? People who want the best processor for the price. If you’re a hardcore gamer or heavy multitasker, you could get a faster smartphone at this price point.
But if you don’t mind a slight compromise in performance, going with the Reno15 will get you a more impressive display with good speakers, great cameras, long battery life and fast charging, a solid and durable build, and, despite the underwhelming CPU choice, a day-to-day performance that’s still fast and snappy.
The bottom line is that the OPPO Reno15 is a great smartphone, not perfect due to the chipset and price, but still one of the best all-rounders in its segment.
OPPO Reno15 pricing and availability in the Philippines
The OPPO Reno15 12GB/256GB retails for Php36,999 while the 12GB/512GB is priced at Php39,999. They are available on OPPO concept stores, kiosks, and online through the OPPO Online Store, Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop.
