PH internet usage increased, 98.8% use mobile devices in 2024 — gov’t survey

Most Filipinos these days spend a considerable amount of time doing online activities, whether for entertainment, work, or academic purposes. It may not come as a surprise that the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and the Department of Communications Technology (DICT) recorded a surge in internet access and usage in 2024. The 2024 National Information and Communications Technology Household Survey (NICTHS) reports that most households in the Philippines have internet access; two out of three individuals, ranging from 10 years old and above, are those who are most active. “Internet access at home” is particularly defined by the survey as the general internet availability that most household members use at any time. Now, in 2024, 48.8 percent (that’s about 13.56 million) of households stated having internet access at home. This increases the percentage point to 31.1 compared to the 17.1 back in 2019. The Samsung Galaxy A17 5G has been made public ahead of its official launch, thanks to several retailers across Europe.

As one of Samsung’s premium midrange phones, the Samsung Galaxy A17 has a strikingly sleek design that looks to be predominantly made of glass and metal.

We have Samsung’s signature vertical camera island holding a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide, and a 2-megapixel macro lens.

A 13-megapixel selfie snapper is on the front, sitting on top of the 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. It offers a peak brightness of 1,100 nits.

HONOR X9c Smart: Dimensity 7025 Ultra CPU, 6.8″ 120Hz display, 5800mAh battery

HONOR has released a new smartphone with a name we haven’t heard from them before, the HONOR X9c Smart. The HONOR X9c Smart is powered by a new MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra processor, albeit not many details are available on this chip. What we know is that it has the same 2.5GHz clock speed and IMG BXM-8-256 GPU as the non-Ultra chip. As for the design, it has the same ring camera layout on the back as the X9b and X9a and comes in Ocean Cyan and Moonlight White colorways. HONOR also brags how it is only 7.8mm thick and only weighs 193g. It also received an SGS 5-star comprehensive reliability rating for having a 2-meter drop resistance.
