Xiaomi’s new 6mm UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank is so thin you might forget you’re carrying it

We have a complicated relationship with battery. For years, we’ve been locked in a silent compromise. We demand smartphones that are thinner, lighter, and more elegant, yet we carry the guilt of battery anxiety. Our solution? The portable power bank. But let’s be honest: for all their utility, traditional power banks are a burden. They are the bulky bricks we throw into a bag, tethered to our phones by a cable, ruining the sleek, unibody aesthetic we pay a premium for. We’ve spent the last week living with a device that feels less like an accessory and more like a liberation from that compromise: the new Xiaomi UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank 5000 . At first glance, the specs seem too good to be true. A 6mm thin profile? 98 grams light? 15W wireless charging? It sounds like marketing hype. But after putting it through the real-life tests, from cramped coffee shop tables to day-to-day use, I’d like to share with you the things that you should know about it. How Xiaomi made it s...

DJI Avata 360: 8K 1-inch sensors, O4+ FHD transmission, Omnidirectional Obstacle Sensing

DJI-Avata-360

DJI has unveiled one of its most advanced and user-friendly drones, the DJI Avata 360.

The DJI Avata 360 is taking the whole Avata series to a completely new level. For starters, it is DJI’s first-ever drone to have a 360-degree camera, and it’s not just any other camera.

It uses sensors similar to those of the popular DJI Osmo 360. It has two 1-inch CMOS sensors capable of shooting 8K@60fps HDR videos or whopping 120-megapixel panoramic photos. It supports both 360-degree and single-lens mode for flat, 4K@60fps videos.

The use of a 360-degree lens makes a lot of sense for a drone. It allows pilots to focus on flying while handling framing later in editing, making drone operation much easier and more beginner-friendly.

It’s also equipped with DJI’s O4+ Full HD Video Transmission Technology, with a maximum range of 20km. This ensures that the live video feed from the drone to the RC controller is solid and clear with a 1080p/60fps quality.

DJI also claims it can retain solid connectivity even with orbiting buildings and navigating through obstacles.

Speaking of obstacles, the Avata 360 has tons of sensors and LiDAR to enable its Omnidirectional Obstacle Sensing, safeguarding you from obstacles, even in pitch-black environments. Perfect for beginners.

But if you want full freedom, you can switch to Sport mode for the full FPV-like experience. Return-to-Home is also a handy feature that saves the exact location where you took off and autonomously flies back there and lands when toggled.

Spotlight, which the Avata 360 inherited from the Inspire 3, lets you choose the subject you want the cameras to lock in while you just fly closely, giving you that cinematic look without the advanced skills.

ActiveTrack 360-degree is also here for smarter and safer tracking, both in production and post-production.

The drone itself is more compact than its cousins. It even has a built-in propeller guide for safety.

It also works with DJI’s smart battery, DJI RC 2 controller, and Googgles N3 with Motion 3 joystick.

The DJI Avata 360 base model with an RC2 controller has an SRP of Php38,290 in the Philippines. The Fly More Combo with RC2 and Motion Fly More Combo with DJI Google N3 comes in at Php47,890.

Both Fly More Combos will come with three smart batteries, a charging hub, and a shoulder bag. A vibrant, orange foldable landing pad is also included.
