The beef between DJI and Insta360 heats up with the release of the DJI Osmo Pocket 4P.
Both Chinese companies are currently suing each other for allegedly infringing patents. Now, we’re curious to see if the new DJI Osmo Pocket 4P will be used in court.

As you can see, the new Osmo Pocket 4P has dual cameras. It’s a first in the series and an obvious competition to the new Insta360 Luna Ultra.
This compact gimbal camera boasts a 1-inch main sensor with LOFIC, f/2.0 aperture, and a fairly wide 20mm lens equivalent.

That’s similar to the one found on the DJI Osmo Pocket 4. In fact, almost the entire hardware is based on that camera. It still has a 2-inch rotating touchscreen that can reach 1000 nits, a big 1,545mAh battery with fast charging, and a built-in storage of 103GB with a slot for up to a 1TB microSD card.
What’s new here is the secondary camera. It’s a telephoto lens with a 60mm equivalent, great for portraits or shooting concerts. It uses a 1/1.28-inch sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. It offers 3x optical zoom and up to 12x digital zoom.

The two cameras are attached to a 3-axis mechanical gimbal. DJI’s renowned ActiveTrack intelligent subject tracking is here, can shoot 10-bit videos, and D-Log2 color.
It can record 37MP still photos, panoramas, and up to 4K@60fps video recording or slow motion videos of up to 4K@240fps. WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity are also here.

The DJI Osmo Pocket 4P is now available in China. The Standard Kit retails for CNY3,799 (~Php33,900), while the vlogging kit that includes accessories like a DJI Mic 3, wireless controller, and fill light comes in at CNY4,299 (~Php38,400). Release details in the Philippines are yet to be known.
