Globe has just made setting up home internet as easy as ordering dinner. The company announced a new partnership with GrabMart to offer its GFiber Prepaid service through the app, letting customers order and get connected in as fast as two hours.
The service, which Globe calls an “order and install” WiFi on demand model, is first rolling out in Pasig City. From there, Globe plans to expand to selected areas in Metro Manila, as well as major cities in the Visayas and Mindanao.
The Php699 GFiber Prepaid package on Grab includes free installation and 7 days of unlimited internet with speeds of up to 300Mbps. The connection can support up to 15 devices at the same time. No documents are required to sign up, and the service is reloadable, meaning users can add more data when they need it.
The GFiber Prepaid service is aimed at a wide range of users, including work from home professionals, renters, gamers, streamers, and young households. Instead of waiting days or weeks for a technician appointment, customers can order through the Grab app and have someone at their door in as fast 2 hours, depending on serviceability in their area.
Globe says the move is part of a larger push to bridge the digital divide and make home internet more accessible to Filipino families. By putting GFiber Prepaid on GrabMart, a platform already used for food and grocery delivery, the company is betting that convenience will be the key to getting more households online.
