MSI’s Claw 8 EX AI Plus handheld uses Intel Arc G3 Extreme Chip

COMPUTEX 2026 just gave us our first official look at MSI’s next gaming handheld, the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ . So what makes this device different? The main attraction is a new chip from Intel called the Arc G3 Extreme. According to MSI, this processor is faster than the AMD Z2 Extreme chips found in many current handhelds. The only portable gaming machines that beat it use AMD’s top-end AI Max+ 395 chip, but those usually cost more. The MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ runs Windows 11 and works right away with Microsoft’s new Xbox Mode, a feature previously known as Xbox FSE. MSI also says the handheld has better power efficiency and stronger haptic feedback than its older model. One of the smarter upgrades is inside the storage slot. The new Claw accepts full-sized M.2 2280 NVMe Gen 4 drives. That’s the most common size and most reasonanbly priced. The older model used a smaller, more expensive M.2 2230 drive. So this change should make upgrading your storage much cheaper and easier...
