Edifier has launched an updated version of its popular desktop speakers in China. The R1000TC II keeps the traditional bookshelf look with wooden side panels and a black textured front. The cabinets use medium-density fiberboard to cut down on vibrations, and each unit comes with detachable grilles to keep dust away from the drivers.
For sound, the new Edifier Edifier R1000TC II system uses a two-way design. There are 1-inch tweeters for the highs and 4-inch yellow cone drivers for the mids and bass. A built-in amplifier delivers 21 watts per channel, adding up to 42 watts total output. The frequency range goes from 65Hz on the low end up to 20kHz.

The right speaker has physical knobs on its side for volume, treble, and bass adjustments. It measures 149 by 234 by 202.5 millimeters, making it a good fit for most desks.
The selling point this time around is the connectivity. Unlike its original predecessor, the Edifier R1000TC II supports Bluetooth 6.0, which lets you pair two devices at the same time. You can also hook it up the old-fashioned way with RCA cables or use the USB port for a direct connection to your computer.

Another handy feature is the Edifier Connect phone app. Through the app, you can tweak the equalizer settings, adjust left and right channel levels, disable those annoying notification beeps, and install firmware updates without needing a computer.
The Edifier R1000TC II bookshelf speakers are now listed on JD.com with a price tag of CNY399 (~Php3,600).
