Facebook Marketplace gets a dedicated app for business sellers

Meta has rolled out a brand-new app called Seller , aimed at people who use Facebook Marketplace frequently to sell goods. The app is designed to turn the platform into a more serious sales tool, moving beyond casual garage-sale style listings. The main goal of Facebook Seller app is to give users better control over their shops. It includes smart features like automated listing descriptions and price suggestions powered by artificial intelligence. Sellers can also manage all their customer questions from a single inbox, track their stock, and see detailed reports on how their items are performing. All your existing Marketplace data, including past sales and messages, will move over to the new app automatically. Any item you list using Seller will still show up in the regular Marketplace feed. You can continue to use the old Facebook method if you prefer, but the new app makes juggling multiple products much easier. What are disappearing messages, and how do they work...

Facebook launches free ‘check’ badge to verify real people

Meta-Facebook-badge

Meta has introduced a free badge for Facebook profiles. The check mark is designed to show that a real human, not a bot or a fake account, is using that profile.

To earn the new badge, users must simply submit a short video selfie. Facebook then compares that video with the photos already on the profile to confirm a match. The company says this check takes only a few minutes.

Take note that you have to be at least 18 years old to qualify and your account also needs to be in good standing. This means no past issues with scams, fraud, or fake behavior. The badge is not available for business pages or ProMode accounts, as it is only for personal profiles.

At first, the badge will appear on profiles, in Marketplace listings, in Dating, and inside Groups. Later on, Meta plans to add it to regular Feed posts as well.

The free FB check mark badge is a simple feature that helps people know they are dealing with a real person before they reply to a sales post, accept a chat request, or join a group conversation.

However, the badge should not be treated as a stamp of approval. Having the check mark doesn’t mean that Facebook confirms the person is safe or trustworthy. It only confirms they are not a fake account, so users are still advised to watch out for FB Marketplace scams.

Meta’s new Facebook badge is completely free to use, but it’s rolling out in stages. It’s not the same as Meta’s paid verification subscription service, which offers extra features like extra account protection and customer support. The free badge has one job: to verify real people.

Sei Crypto Wallet to come pre-installed on Xiaomi phones

Xiaomi and The Sei Development Foundation, a non-profit that promotes the Sei network, have entered a global partnership that aims to promote mainstream blockchain adoption. From 2026, Xiaomi phones available outside mainland China and the United States will come pre-installed with a wallet and crypto discovery app developed by Sei Labs. This would definitely help increase the adoption of the network as Xiaomi is one of the biggest smartphone vendors in the world, just behind Samsung and Apple. Participating phones will be able to conduct peer-to-peer payments, explore Web3 products, and access decentralized applications without the need to download third-party apps. What’s more, Sei plans to implement stablecoin payments in over 20,000 Xiaomi stores, starting in Hong Kong and the European Union. Sei Labs aims to “build a decentralized NASDAQ” and targets to accommodate 200,000 transactions per second as it aims to shift the financial ecosystem on-chain. To make it possible, th...
