HMD has introduced a new smartphone with some pretty dated specs, even for its price. Meet the HMD Asha 305. While the official specs list was not confirmed by the company, a website called gsmchoice.com reveals that the HMD Asha 305 is powered by a UNISOC SC9832E processor, a chipset released way back in 2018. It only has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. It also has a very underwhelming 5-inch IPS display with only an 854 x 480 resolution and thick bezels on top and bottom. There’s a 5-megapixel camera on the back and a 2-megapixel selfie-snapper on the front. What’s worse, it ships with Android 14 Go software. Also, it only has a 2,500mAh battery. Xiaomi launches C701 Pro home camera in the Philippines

Xiaomi has released a new indoor security camera in the Philippines, the Xiaomi C701 Pro. The device is aimed at families who want to keep an eye on young children, aging parents, or pets while they are away from home.

The camera uses two lenses to deliver clear video. One lens captures wide shots, while the other handles close-ups. Users can zoom in up to 9 times to see fine details. The camera can also lock onto a moving person or pet and follow them around the room.

Nighttime viewing is another strong point. The C701 Pro can show colour images in low light, which many security cameras struggle with. Its night vision mode uses infrared lights that do not glow red, so it won’t bother anyone trying to sleep.

Privacy is a growing concern with home cameras, and Xiaomi has added some thoughtful touches. The C701 Pro comes with a physical cover that slides over the lens. You can close it manually or through the mobile app when you do not want the camera recording.

The device processes motion alerts and sound detection on the camera itself instead of sending data to outside servers. This keeps personal footage more secure.

The camera includes a speaker and microphone for two-way conversations. You can speak to family members through the app and hear their responses.
