Xiaomi’s new outdoor CCTV camera runs on solar power and mobile data

Xiaomi has released a new outdoor security camera in China that runs entirely on solar power and mobile data. The new Xiaomi Smart Solar Camera 4 Pro includes a solar panel for charging and a built-in 9,900mAh battery. According to the company, the battery can keep the camera running for more than eight days without sunlight. It also has two internal 4G SIM cards that work together to keep the connection stable, even in areas where network coverage is weak. The camera comes with two 5-megapixel lenses that can record video in 3K quality. One lens moves up and down and side to side, while the other offers a wider rotation range for better coverage. The large aperture helps capture clear images at night, and the infrared lights allow visibility up to 10 meters in the dark. Other useful features include a slot for a microSD card, an IP66 rating that protects against dust and rain, and motion detection powered by artificial intelligence. Xiaomi and The Sei Development Foundation, a non-profit that promotes the Sei network, have entered a global partnership that aims to promote mainstream blockchain adoption. From 2026, Xiaomi phones available outside mainland China and the United States will come pre-installed with a wallet and crypto discovery app developed by Sei Labs. This would definitely help increase the adoption of the network as Xiaomi is one of the biggest smartphone vendors in the world, just behind Samsung and Apple. What’s more, Sei plans to implement stablecoin payments in over 20,000 Xiaomi stores, starting in Hong Kong and the European Union. Sei Labs aims to “build a decentralized NASDAQ” and targets to accommodate 200,000 transactions per second as it aims to shift the financial ecosystem on-chain. To make it possible, th...
