TECNO claims it has built a phone with no bezel at all

TECNO is turning heads again with another bold concept. At next month’s IFA show in Berlin, the company will show off what it calls the first smartphone with a completely borderless display. Most high-end phones today have very thin edges, but they still have some visible frame. Apple and Samsung models usually sit at around 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. Xiaomi and Honor have pushed that to 95 percent by hiding cameras and trimming down the sides. Tecno says its new design goes all the way to 100 percent. The company says it achieved this by reworking the internal layout and using new methods to seal the screen. These changes remove the last bit of space needed for wiring and safety margins. TECNO measures the border at 0 microns, which is effectively zero. For now, this is only a prototype. We will not see a working version until IFA 2026. For now, this is only a prototype. We will not see a working version until IFA 2026. TECNO believes the design will make watching videos and playing games feel more immersive because there are no black bars around the edges.

One question that comes to mind is how the phone handles accidental touches when you hold it. The company did mention improved touch sensitivity in its announcement, so they seem aware of the challenge.

TECNO is thinking big, as it wants this look to become its signature style for future devices. With fewer competitors in the smartphone space these days, the company sees a chance to stand out.

Sei Crypto Wallet to come pre-installed on Xiaomi phones

Xiaomi and The Sei Development Foundation, a non-profit that promotes the Sei network, have entered a global partnership that aims to promote mainstream blockchain adoption. From 2026, Xiaomi phones available outside mainland China and the United States will come pre-installed with a wallet and crypto discovery app developed by Sei Labs. This would definitely help increase the adoption of the network as Xiaomi is one of the biggest smartphone vendors in the world, just behind Samsung and Apple. Participating phones will be able to conduct peer-to-peer payments, explore Web3 products, and access decentralized applications without the need to download third-party apps. What’s more, Sei plans to implement stablecoin payments in over 20,000 Xiaomi stores, starting in Hong Kong and the European Union. Sei Labs aims to “build a decentralized NASDAQ” and targets to accommodate 200,000 transactions per second as it aims to shift the financial ecosystem on-chain. To make it possible, th...
