Lenovo outs yet another gaming tablet, the Lenovo Legion Y700 AI. The Lenovo Legion Y700 AI features a compact but fast and colorful display. It’s an 8.4-inch OLED screen with a 2.5K resolution, 12-bit color, and Dolby Vision. There’s a high 165Hz refresh rate and an impressive 4,000-nit peak brightness. Powering the device is an apt Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, with up to a whopping 24GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage that you can expand further by up to 2TB via the microSD card slot. This machine uses LPDDR5T RAM and UFS 4.1 Pro storage. The chipset is attached to a large 15,000mm2 cooling system. It also boasts two USB-C ports, one is a USB 3.2 Gen 2 that supports DisplayPort, while the other is only USB 2.0 for data and charging. A 3.5mm headphone jack is also here. Xbox’s disc-to-digital move puts PlayStation’s physical game strategy under more scrutiny

Xbox just announced its new disc-to-digital initiative, making PlayStation look even worse amid the ongoing debate over the obsolescence of physical game discs.

PlayStation has faced massive backlash following its recent announcement. Rockstar Games, meanwhile, faced an even more incredible situation after a leaker revealed major details and footage of the highly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6, following the developer’s decision not to release the game in a physical disc format.

Discontinuing physical discs is very anti-consumer, as it prevents game owners from physically owning their games and doing whatever they want with them after completion.

Now, Microsoft is playing the good guy by introducing its disc-to-digital initiative. Xbox recognizes that gamers have built libraries of physical games, and this move will allow them to continue playing their games while enjoying the benefits of going digital, including support for Xbox Play Anywhere and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

To make it work, users can simply insert supported disc-based games into their Xbox One or Xbox Series X to receive a digital entitlement. The physical disc will continue to work as it normally does.

The feature will be available for testing to Xbox Insiders starting August 31.
