TECNO launches the POVA 8 Pro with tons of interesting new features. The TECNO POVA 8 Pro boasts an Alive Matrix Display on the back. It seamlessly sits within the large, triangular camera island. It is a mini LED screen that shows the time, notifications, and supports over 49 scenarios. It looks incredible, especially in its Interstellar Spaceship design. A true gaming phone, the POVA 8 Pro comes with a dedicated P1 graphics chip, which improves its gaming capabilities and enables 144fps gaming with frame interpolation. TECNO claims select games can run at 90fps and 144fps. Speaking of 144Hz refresh rate, the POVA 8 Pro has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, with a 2,800Hz instant touch sampling rate, 4,500-nit peak brightness, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. Xiaomi HyperOS 4: New features and update schedule

Xiaomi has unveiled the latest HyperOS 4, which will carry the new Android 17 update.

The new Xiaomi HyperOS 4 will have an almost entirely new interface as it boards the glass UI hype train. It allows you to heavily customize the lockscreen, resize folders and group widgets, seamlessly switch between portrait and landscape, and the UI attempts to render realistic-looking refractions.

HyperOS 4 also brings performance upgrades with better optimization for speeding up app launch time. Xiaomi’s own testing reveals that after using a HyperOS 4 phone for 9 hours, it loaded apps 18% faster compared to HyperOS 3.

The software achieved this by using AI to predict what resources a user needd next and preload them into the memory.

Xiaomi also made the camera app launch 200ms faster, while the HDR processing algorithm now only takes 240ms (from 310ms). You should also expect faster video playback.

More on AI, Xiaomi will use its own MiMo LLM to power its Super AI Assistant 2.0. It is tasked with handling photo album searches, notes organization, voice transcription, creating travel plans, controlling smart homes and cars, and more.

A new feature called Inspiration Ball was also created, which is essentially Xiaomi’s take on Google’s Circle to Search. You can use it to point at items on the UI, like a mobile number, and say “call this number”, and immediately reach the contact. You can also use it on images, addresses, and more.

Amazon announces two new Tomb Raider games

Get ready to dust off your climbing axes. Lara Croft, the legendary treasure hunter, is returning to consoles and computers in a big way. Following a long break from solo adventures, two major new games in the Tomb Raider series were revealed at The Game Awards 2025. The last time players controlled Lara in a core series game was 2018’s Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Now, publisher Amazon Games and longtime developer Crystal Dynamics are bringing her back with a pair of distinct projects.
