Acer Swift Air 14: 120Hz WUXGA IPS display, Intel Core Series 5 CPU, up to 19hr battery

Acer will take on the MacBook Neo and Air with its latest laptop, the Acer Swift Air 14. The Acer Swift Air 14 comes with a sleek design that’s 12.99mm thin, weighs 1.19kg, and comes in a variety of chic colors: Green, Blue, Purple, and Pink. It has a CNC diamond-cut cover and an 180-degree hinge. There’s a compact 14-inch WUXGA IPS display, with a high 120Hz refresh rate. It is paired with a large 70Wh battery with 100W fast charging. Acer claims it can last up to 19 hours of video playback or up to 16 hours of web browsing. A 30-minute charge gets you to 50%. It is powered by an Intel Core Series 5 320 processor, with a built-in NPU, up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 512GB SSD. It ships with Windows 11 Home. ASUS unveils new ROG gaming monitors packed with up to 720Hz refresh rate, OLED panel

At this year’s Gamescom, ASUS revealed three new gaming displays aimed at esports fans. The new lineup, part of the company’s Ace series, focuses on fast OLED screens that reduce blur and offer bright, accurate colors for quick-action games.

The top-tier model, the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace, runs at 720Hz, making it the quickest of the bunch. It uses a 1080p WOLED panel with a peak brightness of 1,700 nits and works with Dolby Vision for sharper HDR visuals. A handy extra is the built-in Position Sensor, which tracks the screen’s angle and height. This info appears on the display, so gamers can easily reset their preferred viewing position after moving the monitor.

The other two monitors use QD-OLED panels. The new ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG259QDPG Ace offers a 560Hz refresh rate and comes with a special coating that ASUS says boosts dark tones by up to 40 percent while also protecting the screen from scratches. The cheaper version, the ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG259QDNS Ace, drops down to a 360Hz refresh rate but keeps the same coating. ASUS hopes this lower speed will keep the price down for budget-conscious buyers.

All three screens are 24.5 inches in size, which makes them more travel-friendly than the larger models ASUS has put out before. The company first teased this series at Computex 2026 with the ROG Strix OLED XG259QWPG Ace.

Pricing and availability are still limited. The ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace will hit stores in early Q4 for $1,099 (~Php68,000). The ROG Strix OLED XG259QWPG Ace will also arrive in early Q4, priced at $699 (~Php43,000). ASUS hasn’t announced a release date or cost for the entry-level XG259QDNS Ace yet.

Amazon announces two new Tomb Raider games

Get ready to dust off your climbing axes. Lara Croft, the legendary treasure hunter, is returning to consoles and computers in a big way. Following a long break from solo adventures, two major new games in the Tomb Raider series were revealed at The Game Awards 2025.
