Smart is leaning into 5G FWA at a time when its 5G user base is expanding quickly. 5G now accounts for 21% of all individual devices on the Smart network — 12.5 million as of end-June 2026, up 30% year-on-year. The push is part of a multi-year 5G rollout that has helped Smart expand coverage and capacity across the country. The operator also topped Ookla’s mobile video charts in the Philippines for H1 2026, with a 72.82 Video Score leading the country’s mobile operators.

Lloyd R. Manaloto, FVP and OIC for Smart, said the 5G Max Home WiFi is part of Smart’s effort to extend 5G into homes that fixed-line broadband has yet to reach, without requiring a wired install.
