Google launches Playground, a new platform for making games with AI

A new experiment from Google Labs now lets anyone turn written ideas into playable games. The platform, named Playground , works entirely inside a web browser. Based in Mountain View, Google said the tool removes the need for programming skills. Instead of learning complex software, users type out what they want in plain words. A chat window is used to make changes to characters, rules, movement, and scenery. According to a blog post from the company, Playground targets people who have never touched code or a game engine. The process works like a conversation. A user writes a request, and the game is created for them to try right away in the browser. Games can be started from nothing, from a ready-made prompt, or with step-by-step help. Once a game exists, users can keep tweaking it by typing new instructions. Changes can cover how things move, what the rules are, who the characters are, or what the world looks like. Because the games live online, they can be o...

Samsung-S24

Samsung is now sending Android 17 to more of its older phones and foldables. The update comes as part of One UI 9, the company’s latest software.

The Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24 Ultra are getting the update in South Korea. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are getting it there too. People who joined the beta program are receiving it first, with a download of about 500MB.

Android-17

One UI 9 began rolling out back in September. The first device to get it was the Galaxy S26. After that, Samsung brought it to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy S25 series.

Now, it’s reaching older models. This is only the start of the roll out as more regions should get the update in the coming days.

Samsung has not said which countries will be next or when. Device owners can check for the update in their device’s settings.

Amazon announces two new Tomb Raider games

Get ready to dust off your climbing axes. Lara Croft, the legendary treasure hunter, is returning to consoles and computers in a big way. Following a long break from solo adventures, two major new games in the Tomb Raider series were revealed at The Game Awards 2025. The last time players controlled Lara in a core series game was 2018’s Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Now, publisher Amazon Games and longtime developer Crystal Dynamics are bringing her back with a pair of distinct projects. The first is Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis , a full remake of the original 1996 game that started it all. It is being built with Unreal Engine 5 by Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog. Fans can expect a visual overhaul for Lara’s first journey, which the announcement suggests will still include prehistoric creatures. This remake is planned for launch in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Following that will be Tomb Raider: Catalyst , an entirely new story set for release in 2027....

Sei Crypto Wallet to come pre-installed on Xiaomi phones

Xiaomi and The Sei Development Foundation, a non-profit that promotes the Sei network, have entered a global partnership that aims to promote mainstream blockchain adoption. From 2026, Xiaomi phones available outside mainland China and the United States will come pre-installed with a wallet and crypto discovery app developed by Sei Labs. This would definitely help increase the adoption of the network as Xiaomi is one of the biggest smartphone vendors in the world, just behind Samsung and Apple. Participating phones will be able to conduct peer-to-peer payments, explore Web3 products, and access decentralized applications without the need to download third-party apps. What’s more, Sei plans to implement stablecoin payments in over 20,000 Xiaomi stores, starting in Hong Kong and the European Union. Sei Labs aims to “build a decentralized NASDAQ” and targets to accommodate 200,000 transactions per second as it aims to shift the financial ecosystem on-chain. To make it possible, th...
