GTA 6 PC version releasing sooner than expected — report

New reports suggest that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be available on PC in Q1 2027 following its initial release to consoles on November 19, 2026. The gap between releases is surprisingly short, considering how GTA 5 took almost 2 years before arriving on PC. Other Rockstar Games releases like Red Dead Redemption 2, Max Payne 3, and LA Noire, all came to consoles first. The report came from four anonymous sources. Rockstar Games is also expected to release the multiplayer mode of GTA 6 alongside its PC release, which is rumored to be called GTA Online 2. Both Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, are yet to comment on the recent leak. If true, this means that PC gamers don’t have to wait long to finally get the game. NBA could debut ‘smart ball’ in basketball games by 2027

NBA-smart-ball

The NBA might roll out a basketball fitted with a mini chip in games as early as next year, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver told CNBC.

The league has joined forces with Wilson, the maker of the NBA’s official ball, to build a “smart ball.” Inside it sits a small Bluetooth sensor that logs motion, spin, and shifts in direction. That chip is about one gram, while a standard NBA ball comes in at around 620 grams, or 1.4 pounds. Silver said the aim is for players to notice nothing at all.

Testing has already taken place in the G League, Summer League, and a few preseason games. Players handled balls both with and without the chip and nobody could tell the difference. The chip may help officials judge whether a player touched the ball before it crossed out of bounds. It does this by catching slight shifts in spin. It could also reveal whether a shot’s path was altered.

Silver also has plans to bring the smart ball to everyday players. He said it may help them break down their shooting form. Take a player who puts up hundreds of shots. That person could study which angles and spins produce the most baskets.

The official NBA smart ball may arrive next year, though the consumer model is further off.

The league is also looking at wearables for use during games, but no deal has been struck with the players’ union. The NBA said referees tested wrist devices in certain preseason and summer league games this year. The gear let officials speak with the replay center about reviews, scoring changes, and clock issues.

Silver noted that players already use devices away from the court to monitor sleep and physical output. Even so, questions linger about how teams might use data gathered during games. The sticking point is whether that data could play a role in contract talks, as it could possibly show that a player is slowing down or not playing like they used to.

The NBA Commissioner said the league needs to settle with the union on how the data would be handled. Even so, he believes letting players wear devices in games is a natural step.

Sei Crypto Wallet to come pre-installed on Xiaomi phones

Xiaomi and The Sei Development Foundation, a non-profit that promotes the Sei network, have entered a global partnership that aims to promote mainstream blockchain adoption. From 2026, Xiaomi phones available outside mainland China and the United States will come pre-installed with a wallet and crypto discovery app developed by Sei Labs. This would definitely help increase the adoption of the network as Xiaomi is one of the biggest smartphone vendors in the world, just behind Samsung and Apple. Participating phones will be able to conduct peer-to-peer payments, explore Web3 products, and access decentralized applications without the need to download third-party apps. What’s more, Sei plans to implement stablecoin payments in over 20,000 Xiaomi stores, starting in Hong Kong and the European Union. Sei Labs aims to “build a decentralized NASDAQ” and targets to accommodate 200,000 transactions per second as it aims to shift the financial ecosystem on-chain. To make it possible, th...
