Worldwide PC shipments dropped in Q3 2026, still due to RAM shortage

The latest report from the International Data Corporation (IDC) reveals that global PC shipments dropped in Q3 2026, with the industry still dealing with the same problem: a RAM shortage. According to IDC, the industry shipped just 62.7 million PCs in Q3, a 9.1 percent decrease from the previous quarter and a significant 20.1 percent year-over-year (YoY) decline compared to Q3 2025. The IDC report officially cited “supply issues” and “elevated prices” as the main reasons for the decline. But we all know what that means: the ongoing memory shortage continues to hit the PC industry hard. “Channels are now worried about carrying too much inventory into a market where high prices are suppressing demand,” said IDC’s Jitesh Ubrani. “That could translate into promotions and some short-term relief for consumers, but we don’t expect pricing anywhere near what it was a year ago. Prices will remain elevated. With macro c...

There are new updates on OPPO’s rumored wide-screen high-end phone.

The device is expected to be called the OPPO Reno X, and it’s going to be a phone with a wide screen but is not a foldable. Perfect for those who want a large screen real estate but are still doubting the durability of foldables.

A tipster from Weibo claims that the device will have a 16:9 aspect ratio. For comparison, most phones today have a 20:9 or 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

The informant added that it will have narrow bezels all around, which will only measure at 1mm, while the width of the screen is 81mm, with the whole phone measuring at around 85mm wide.

Once out, it will go against the Pura X View. But compared to HUAWEI’s offering, OPPO’s will have a taller and narrower build.

Get ready to dust off your climbing axes. Lara Croft, the legendary treasure hunter, is returning to consoles and computers in a big way. Following a long break from solo adventures, two major new games in the Tomb Raider series were revealed at The Game Awards 2025. The last time players controlled Lara in a core series game was 2018’s Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Now, publisher Amazon Games and longtime developer Crystal Dynamics are bringing her back with a pair of distinct projects. The first is Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis , a full remake of the original 1996 game that started it all. It is being built with Unreal Engine 5 by Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog. This remake is planned for launch in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Following that will be Tomb Raider: Catalyst , an entirely new story set for release in 2027....

Sei Crypto Wallet to come pre-installed on Xiaomi phones

Xiaomi and The Sei Development Foundation, a non-profit that promotes the Sei network, have entered a global partnership that aims to promote mainstream blockchain adoption. From 2026, Xiaomi phones available outside mainland China and the United States will come pre-installed with a wallet and crypto discovery app developed by Sei Labs. This would definitely help increase the adoption of the network as Xiaomi is one of the biggest smartphone vendors in the world, just behind Samsung and Apple. Participating phones will be able to conduct peer-to-peer payments, explore Web3 products, and access decentralized applications without the need to download third-party apps. What’s more, Sei plans to implement stablecoin payments in over 20,000 Xiaomi stores, starting in Hong Kong and the European Union. Sei Labs aims to “build a decentralized NASDAQ” and targets to accommodate 200,000 transactions per second as it aims to shift the financial ecosystem on-chain. To make it possible, th...
