Samsung’s Galaxy M series in India continues to grow. They have added a new one, the Samsung Galaxy M55s 5G. Like its cousins, the Samsung Galaxy M55s 5G sports a large 6.7-inch FHD+ display. It’s an AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. A sharp 50-megapixel selfie camera is on top. On the back, we have another 50-megapixel sensor with optical image stabilization and video digital image stabilization. Under the hood, we have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 octa-core processor, with 8GB of RAM and an option between 128GB and 256GB of storage, expandable up to 1TB via microSD. Keeping the lights on is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging. Security is handled by the in-display fingerprint scanner and face unlock. PLDT sold 135 towers to Unity Digital for Php1.9 billion

PLDT announced that they have completed the first closing for 135 towers out of the 650 sale and leaseback deal with Unity Digital Infrastructure for Php1.9 billion.

In a stock exchange disclosure, PLDT said that the closing was completed last May 16, with the master services agreement that covers the leaseback agreement now effective.

PLDT said that they expect to transfer the additional towers in the coming months “as closing conditions are met”. The complete transfers should be done this year.

The telco giant announced back in December the Php9.2 billion sale and leaseback deal with Unity Digital. Once complete, PLDT’s wireless arm Smart Communications will lease back the towers for 10 years under competitive terms.

As of December, the total number of PLDT towers that have been monetized through sale and leaseback reached more than 6,500 with a worth of over Php86 billion.
