Beats Pill portable speaker with 24-hour battery life, USB-C connectivity announced

Beats discontinued its last Bluetooth speaker, the Pill+, back in 2022. Before this decision, Beats had enjoyed success with a range of smaller, portable speakers, including the original Pill and Pill XL models. 9 years after the last release, Beats has reintroduced its new Pill portable speaker, showcasing a completely redesigned and re-engineered version. The most noticeable change in the new Beats Pill is its 20-degree upward tilt, which the company claims enhances sound projection. Beats promises “more powerful, room-filling sound, bigger bass, and improved tonality” thanks to an updated woofer and tweeter combination designed to reduce distortion. Additionally, the new Pill is 10 percent lighter than the Pill+ and features a removable lanyard for easier portability. The speaker is also IP67 rated for dust and water resistance, making it durable enough to survive brief submersion in water. Similar to previous models, users can sync two Beats Pill speakers for stereo audio.

But this time, it’s more refined, and Xiaomi is joining in on the Titanium hype as it will come with a Titanium Special Edition model, which uses a grade 5 titanium like the new iPhone 15 Pro series. Oddly, it weighs 229.6g, which is heavier than the black and white (22.4.4g) and Dragon Crystal (229.5g) colors. The Titanium will also exclusively get two-way satellite communication. Another similar but refined feature is the cameras. It still has four 50-megapixel shooters, however, the main one gets an upgraded 1-inch Sony LYT-900 sensor. It also has a wider f/1.63 aperture, which can be dropped to f/4.0. The other three cameras use the same 1/2.5-inch Sony IMX858 sensor. That’s for the ultra-wide lens with a 12mm eq
