The new OnePlus flagship has been released, and while it looks the same as last year, the new OnePlus 13 offers substantial upgrades on the inside.
Of course, the OnePlus 13 will be powered by the best chipset from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 8 Elite. This chip has two prime cores clocked at 4.32GHz and offers 45% faster CPU performance and 44% better power efficiency than its predecessor.
The side curves are now gone as it has a 2.5D quad-curved design with subtle curves on the four sides. This resulted in a shorter build but with a size of 6.82 inches.
That display uses a high-end X2 OLED 8T LTPO panel from BOE with a 1440p resolution, 4,500 nits of peak brightness, an under-display fingerprint scanner, and a 1-120Hz refresh rate.
Audio is provided by the stereo speakers. It also gains a new vibration motor that OnePlus claims provides “gaming controller level feedback”. It is apparently the biggest vibration motor on any Android phone with its size of 602mm3.
Another big improvement is the 6,000mAh battery, 600mAh more than what the OnePlus 12 has. It uses the emerging silicon-carbon technology making the device thinner at 8.5mm or 8.9mm depending on the variant (from 9.2mm).
Charging speeds are the same with support for a whopping 100W wired and 50W wireless.
Since it’s coming out in China first, it will ship with Android 15-based ColorOS 15. The international variant should receive the OxygenOS 15.
Now, onto the main event. The new OnePlus flagship has three 50-megapixel cameras with Hasselblad technology. The main shooter uses a Sony LYT-808 sensor with a 23mm equivalent and has optical image stabilization.
Next to it is a Sony LYT-600 sensor with 3x periscope zoom and a 73mm equivalent, a Samskung S5KJN5 with a 15mm equivalent lens, and a 32-megapixel sensor on the front for selfies.
The OnePlus 13 is now available in China for a price of CNY4,499 (~Php36,900) for the 12GB/256GB model, CNY4,899 (~Php40,300) for the 12GB/512GB, CNY5,299 (~Php43,500) for the 16GB/512GB, and CNY5,999 (~Php49,300) for the 24GB/1TB. International release details are yet to be revealed, possibly in early 2025.
