Looking back to 2000, The Sims was a groundbreaking game that changed how we played and experienced simulation. Now, after 25 years, EA is bringing this beloved series back to life once again.
EA, the creators of The Sims, are celebrating the iconic video game series by making both the original The Sims (Php699) and its sequel, The Sims 2 (Php1,079), available for purchase. Players can choose to buy them separately or opt for a special bundle worth Php1,399 that includes both games. For those who aren’t familiar with past versions, the original was only available on physical discs back then, so getting it to run on modern systems required some effort and tinkering.

Maxis, the studio behind The Sims, has been working hard to make the re-releases compatible with modern PCs, specifically Windows 10 and 11. However, they had to make some tough decisions: nix one expansion pack from The Sims 2: Legacy Collection due to licensing issues.
But why are we reliving these older titles now? Well, for one, it’s nostalgia. For many of us, playing as a child on a floppy disc was an unforgettable experience. Imagine reliving those moments with the same avatars you once played as—a feeling that could bring back fond memories and even laughter from days gone by.
