VIVA Holdings partner with IPOPHL to combat online piracy

Vic Del Rosario Jr.’s Viva Holdings, Inc. (VHI) and the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) have signed a memorandum of agreement (MOU) to enhance IP protection in e-commerce. The agreement includes 37 Viva companies with a broad reach in the entertainment sector, including film and TV production, music licensing, streaming, and radio programming, as well as in skin care and cosmetic products, fitness studios, and food services. Del Rosario, Viva’s Chairman and CEO, stressed the importance of the partnership with IPOPHL to protect their brand, creators, and artists against piracy and counterfeiting, which has been a significant problem with online media and streaming. He also added that a significant portion of their earnings is lost due to the said illegal activities, which means less budget for the quality and quantity of future projects. HONOR has a new affordable smartphone, the HONOR 400 Lite, and its design is oddly familiar.

The HONOR 400 Lite has a triangular camera island that looks a lot like the Pura 70 — the flagship phone of their then-parent company, HUAWEI. It holds the ultra-sharp 108-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel ultra-wide lens that also works as the depth sensor.

A 16-megapixel snapper is on the front, next to a selfie flash, placed on top of the 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a sharp FHD+ resolution.

Powering the device is a MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra octa-core processor, with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It will run on the latest Android 15-based MagicOS 9.0 with AI features like AI Eraser.

Keeping the lights on is a 5,230mAh battery with 35W HONOR SuperCharge support.

HONOR also highlighted its sleek design that’s only 7.29mm thick and a weight of 171g. It’s also IP65-rated for dust and water resistance and received a 5-star SGS certification for its anti-drop protection.
