After first unveiling it in January, Nintendo has finally fully unveiled the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2.
The new Nintendo Switch 2 is now much bigger than its predecessor. It is wider and taller, while retaining a thickness of just 13.9g. It weighs around 399g.
This bigger frame allows for a larger kickstand that offers more angle adjustment. More importantly, we now have a bigger 7.9-inch IPS display with a sharper 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and a smoother 120Hz refresh rate with VRR support. It has HDR10 support and may receive a separate OLED version like its predecessor.
It now has two USB-C ports: one on top and one at the bottom. Nintendo also improved the video output with support for up to 4K resolution at 60Hz or 120Hz at 1080p or 1440p.

The Switch 2 also has improved built-in speakers with support for 3D audio over speakers or headphones. 5.1 PCM audio is supported via the dock.
Nintendo didn’t confirm the chipset they used for the Switch 2 nor the longevity of its 5,220mAh battery.

One of the main new features here is the Joy-Con 2. They are now predominantly black, with the color schemes now on the magnet area with bigger SL/SR buttons so each player can use them better individually. The analog sticks are also larger.
The Joy-Con 2 can now also be used as a mouse to unlock more controls.

Talking about accessories, the Switch 2 can be paired with a Camera accessory that’s sold separately. There’s also an Ethernet port on the dock if you don’t like connecting through WiFi 6.
The Switch 2 now has a GameChat feature so you can chat with friends using the dedicated C button and built-in mic on the Joy-Con 2.

Available in select markets starting June 5, the Nintendo Switch 2 will come in two models. The standard one retails for USD449.99 (~Php25,700), while the Mario Kart World Bundle comes in at USD499.99 (~Php28,500).
