Sony’s flagship headphones, the Sony WH-1000XM6, is now official. It’s been upgraded in almost all areas, and sadly, that includes the price.
The Sony WH-1000XM6, as per Sony, has “studio-level accuracy” so you can hear music “as it was meant to be” by the creatives who made it.

To develop its clear and accurate sound, the company tapped a couple of professional and award-winning studio engineers: Battery Studios’ Mike Piacentini, Grammy-winner Michael Romanowski of Coast Mastering, and Sterling Sound’s Chris Genringer and Randy Merrill.
The WH-1000XM6 uses 30mm drivers with a high-rigidity carbon fiber composite material dome and a new voice coil structure.

It then has a new digital-to-analog conversion technology that uses an advanced look-ahead noise sharper that helps predict and optimize quantization noise while reacting quickly to sudden sound changes.
The WH-1000XM6 supports several codecs: SBC, AAC, LDAC, LC3 with Sony DSEE Extreme upscaling algorithm, and 360 Reality Audio with Upmix for Cinema Mode.

It then has 12 microphones with Sony’s new QN3 HD Noise Cancelling Processor that’s 7x faster than its predecessor and enables a new feature called Adaptive NC Optimizer.
Call quality has also been improved thanks to the AI-backed beamforming microphones that can isolate your voice better.

There’s a USB-C port, but only for charging. You can only use the 3.5mm headphone jack and the included cable for wired audio. For wireless, we have Bluetooth 5.3 and support AuraCase, Multipoint connection (two Bluetooth devices at a time), Windows Swift Pair, and Google Fast Pair.
There are a couple of intuitive controls on the body itself. Plus, the head sensors have been improved for better auto-play/pause music or answer/decline calls when you nod or shake your head. Hands-free “Hey Google” voice assistant also works.
For the battery, it lasts for up to 30 hours on a single charge, with a quick 3-minute charge already providing 3 hours of use.
The Sony WH-1000XM6 has an SRP of Php27,999 in the Philippines and is now up for pre-order until June 20. Those who will reserve a unit have a chance to win a trip to Coron, Palawan.
