The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) launched the ScamSafe platform. This comes even as their data shows a reported decrease in online fraud cases.
From January to mid-December 2025, they recorded 9,834 incidents. That figure is lower than the 14,529 cases noted for the same timeframe in 2024.
However, the agency warns the public against complacency. Scammers are still very active and often increase their efforts during the holiday season. This period sees a rise in digital shopping, payments, and donations, creating more opportunities for fraud.

The new ScamSafe platform serves a dual purpose. It allows citizens to easily report both attempted and successful scams. It also provides educational resources on recognizing and avoiding different types of fraud.
Officials emphasize that reporting is crucial. They urge people to use ScamSafe, the CICC’s 1326 hotline, or its social media pages to alert authorities. Unreported scams enable criminal networks to continue their operations undetected.
Alongside the public platform, the CICC is strengthening its partnerships. It is working closely with law enforcement, telecom firms, and local governments to actively disrupt scammers. This includes blocking fraudulent phone numbers and websites.
Looking forward, the CICC plans to enhance its public education campaigns. These efforts will focus on groups most at risk and will include expanded training for government workers involved in the anti-fraud fight.
