BSP launches One QR PH to simplify digital payments

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) officially introduced One QR PH . The system replaces the old setup where stores had to display different QR codes for GCash, Maya, and other digital wallets. Now, one code works for all. Before this change, customers often scanned the wrong code or got confused by mismatched formats. That slowed down lines and frustrated both buyers and sellers. With One QR PH, people can open any participating bank or e-wallet app, scan the same QR, and complete the payment in seconds. The system runs on InstaPay, the central bank’s 24/7 transfer network, so transactions go through even on weekends and holidays. Customers do not pay any fees when using One QR PH to pay merchants. Sellers absorb the charges instead, which makes the system a strong alternative to cash for everyday purchases. Xiaomi and The Sei Development Foundation, a non-profit that promotes the Sei network, have entered a global partnership that aims to promote mainstream blockchain adoption.
