TNT wins gold at 2026 SMARTIES Philippines awards

TNT , Smart Communications’ value brand, took home the Philippines’ Creator/Influencer/Celebrity Marketing gold at the 2026 SMARTIES Philippines awards for a campaign that put paranormal expert Ed Caluag inside a haunted house, where the signal kept breaking. Smart’s marketing services operations VP Raymond Anthony T. Samarista and representatives from WPP Media Philippines took the trophy, alongside SMARTIES juror Paul Debaprateem of Sodexo Philippines. MMA’s SMARTIES program rewards campaigns for measurable business impact, and entries are grouped under four marketing channels. The spot first ran in February 2026, with creative from Ace Saatchi & Saatchi and media planning handled by Wavemaker Philippines — WPP Media. Caluag streams an investigation of an old house, and every time a ghost appears the feed stutters. The spirits, tired of the broken stream, start interrupting him right back — a joke that lands because the complaint underneath it is r...

Riot Games to shutdown League of Legends Classic in January 2027

League-of-Legends-Classic

Riot Games will shut down League of Legends Classic in early January 2027, the company announced in a blog post.

The throwback mode launched in July but lost players quickly. Many returned to other parts of League, Riot said.

Before the shutdown, Riot will add windowed queues in regions with long wait times and keep adding champions through 2026 patches.

Riot plans to bring Classic back later, likely as a limited-time event shaped by player feedback.

The mode was promoted with a live match featuring ten retired pros at this summer’s Mid-Season Invitational. Unlike Blizzard’s successful World of Warcraft Classic, Riot’s version failed to keep players interested long term.

Apple puts Vision Pro update on hold to speed up development of AI smart glasses

Apple has reportedly decided to delay plans for a major update to its high-end Vision Pro headset. This new rumor comes from a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman . Although Apple had been developing a more affordable and lighter version of the Vision Pro, it is now reassigning staff from that project to work on the new smart glasses initiative. According to the report, Apple is developing at least two different types of smart glasses. The first model, known internally as the N50, is designed to work with an iPhone and will not have its own built-in display. Apple’s current plan is to announce these glasses as early as next year, with a full release to the public scheduled for 2027. The second model is a more advanced version that will include its own display. This product would put Apple in direct competition with the recently a...

Following a long break from solo adventures, two major new games in the Tomb Raider series were revealed at The Game Awards 2025. The last time players controlled Lara in a core series game was 2018’s Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Now, publisher Amazon Games and longtime developer Crystal Dynamics are bringing her back with a pair of distinct projects. The first is Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis , a full remake of the original 1996 game that started it all. It is being built with Unreal Engine 5 by Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog. Fans can expect a visual overhaul for Lara’s first journey, which the announcement suggests will still include prehistoric creatures. This remake is planned for launch in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Following that will be Tomb Raider: Catalyst , an entirely new story set for release in 2027....
