Instagram launches Instants feature for photos that disappear after being viewed

Instagram is bringing back the old days of quick, unpolished photo sharing. The company just launched a new tool called Instants. It lets people take a photo, send it to friends, and have it disappear after it’s seen. The whole point is to be spontaneous. No filters. No editing tools. You cannot even pick a picture from your phone’s gallery. All you can do is add a short line of text. Then you choose who gets it. That could be your close friends list or just people who follow you back. If you change your mind right after sending, there is a short window to hit undo and pull the photo back before anyone sees it. Instagram is offering Instants in two ways. One is inside the regular Instagram app. You can find it in your messages by tapping a small icon in the bottom corner. The other is a separate app that also goes by the name Instants. That standalone version is only being tested in some countries right now, but it works on both iPhones and Android devices. ...

HONOR and vivo are reportedly working on wide foldable smartphones

Huawei-Apple-foldable-phone

Remember all the talk about Apple and Samsung making wide foldable phones? Well, it turns out they won’t be the only players in that game. New leaks suggest at least two other big names are quietly working on similar devices.

First, the basics. We already knew that Samsung is planning to show off its wide foldable in July. Apple fans will likely have to wait until September for their version. But here is where it gets interesting.

vivo-wide-foldable-phone

According to a tipster called Smart Pikachu, vivo is also busy building a wide foldable. That said, don’t expect it to be the next vivo X Fold 6. That particular model will focus on something else, mainly hiding the screen crease better. The tipster didn’t confirm if vivo’s wide foldable will actually arrive before the year ends.

Honor-wide-foldable-phone

Then there is HONOR. Another source, Guan Tongxue GiM, says HONOR has been thinking about a wide foldable for a long time now. He even posted a concept image. The design shows three cameras on the back and a small secondary screen. Unlike the Apple and Samsung models, HONOR’s version probably won’t give you a full tablet-like screen. But keep in mind, it’s just a concept for now. The real device, if it happens, is rumored to launch in early 2027, around the first quarter.

So what will these phones look like? Most guesses point to vivo and OPPO making book-style wide foldables, similar to what Apple and Samsung are preparing. HONOR might take a slightly different path, but nobody knows for sure yet.
