TECNO has joined forces with a well-known travel company Lonely Planet to run a photo contest. The competition is for people in the Philippines who love taking pictures with their phones.
The event starts on May 15 and ends on October 11, 2026. The theme this year is about trusting what you see with your own eyes. The goal is to capture real, everyday moments instead of staged or fake looking images.
Winners can get money or travel packages. The best photo will earn USD8,000(~Php492,000). 5 runners up will get USD3,000(~Php184,000) each. Another 5 winners will receive USD2,000(~Php123,000). And 5 more will take home USD1,000(~Php61,000).

10 people will also win a new phone from the CAMON 50 Series. The grand prize winner and the 5 gold prize winners will also go on a paid trip to the Philippines.
People can enter their photos into five different categories.
One group is for portraits that show people as they really are. Another is for night shots, like city lights or quiet streets after dark. A third group is for cultural moments, such as festivals, cooking, or street interactions.

There is also a category for zoomed in shots of small or faraway details that people usually miss. The last group involves artificial intelligence. For this one, users must first take a real photo. Then they can use a phone tool to change it into an artistic style. They need to send both the original and the changed picture.
TECNO also added a special award just for local contestants. Six winners from the Philippines will be chosen as official photo ambassadors. Each one will get a travel package from the partner company and a new phone.
Five of these winners will come from the photo categories. One winner will come from video entries. People can submit videos through Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, or TikTok. Video entries will not qualify for the main prizes but will be considered for this local award.
How to join the TECNO contest
To join, people need to post their photos on Instagram. Each photo must have a visible phone watermark on it. They must also use three specific tags in their post.

After posting online, they need to send high quality copies of their photos by email. They can also submit them through the company’s Philippine website.
All entries must be original. Anyone who sends the same photo twice will be removed from the contest. The winning pictures will be shown in exhibits, printed in a yearly photo book, and shared on the company’s social media pages.
